Re: Cat owner from yesterday

The associating the litterbox with bad things is what I was worried about. (I had bought a new litterbox and a new kind of litter to hopefully lessen the association.) It appears the peeing was because he was still groggy and out of it from the surger, as he has since peed three more times in the litterbox. It doesn't help my poor bed, but at least it doesn't seem like I will have the issues you are having, fortunately. The litter I bought was one for problem cats that have issues using the litterbox and came with a pamphlet of things to try. Maybe you have something like that in your area? As I would hate to be in your situation. (And am crossing my fingers that I am not.) I'd look up the brand name, but I'm at work and it is obviously at home. I could look it up later if you want? Good luck!

I'm glad it seems like the anesthesia was the cause, and that your cat isn't becoming litterbox-averse. We changed our cat's box when we noticed he was peeing elsewhere, but we haven't switched litter, so maybe the stuff you're using might help, especially if it comes with suggestions. If you get the chance later, I'd be grateful for the recommendation.

It's called Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract. There's a whole line of stuff. It's through "Precious Cat", apparently, based on the booklet. www.preciouscat.com or Toll Free 877-311-CATS

Here are some testimonials, including someone who was using puppy pads, as you are... http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751734
