That's not really comparable. Power Dude still looks strong and imposing. Power Girl does not. Give him an emaciated waist and a deformed torso and have him twist into a fucking pretzel to show off his crotch (WHICH STILL ISN'T AS PROMINANT AS IT WOULD BE IF HE WAS A WOMAN!) and ass at the same time. THEN we'll have the male version of power girl.

I have seen plenty of images of Power Girl looking strong and imposing. Most of them from pre-reboot JSA. When she's drawn correctly, she's got some serious musculature on her.

Unfortunately, I had to add the caveat "when she's drawn correctly".

Really? In most comic book versions, I think she is built like brick house unlike other heroines. Broad shouldered, muscled thighs and strong arms. Rarely do I see her spaghetti thin. She's toned.

She looks like she could take a hit and give back double fold.

This art is delicious. And yes, she does look powerful and I have no doubts she can take care of herself.

Those are some seriously differently sized boobs in that last picture on the dark haired girl ... Oo

Power Girl will always be my armspiration.

Alex Ross always does great superheroine art

Um...female cosplayers dressed as female characters aren't deformed or twisted into pretzels, either. Your rant, while it would make sense if the secret were about the comics themselves, is irrelevant when the secret is about cosplayers, aka real people with real bodies.

This.

I agree with your rant in the general sense, but it falls flat when applied to reality. People don't bend that way. (Most people.)

Like the above illustrates, Power Girl is usually drawn rather muscular, it's just that her boobs are so outsized (usually around the same size as her head) that it gives her the illusion of a too-small waist and weird-looking torso. I've got gigantic boobs myself, so no hate, but damn, woman. She gets the spine-breaking pose less often, too (probably because nothing needs to distract from the superhuman boobs).
