John Green got too popular. The internet will turn on anyone/anything for sometimes no reason if they become popular. Take Tom Hiddleston. I have never seen him do anything offensive...and that is the reason some people give to hate him. He is too nice.

I do like that John Green tries to actively fight the accusations against him in intelligent, respectful, and calm ways. That is certainly more than some of the people who attack him deserve.

I write HP fiction and my wizarding world is usually okay with homosexuality. It's important to talk about prejudices but I think other kind of stories with gay characters are important too. That's why I love Xena or Torchwood, because their characters are homosexual but these shows aren't about being homosexual.
