like look, i don't think there's anything wrong with a white person cosplaying a character who isn't white. cosplayer above with the anecdote about people yelling at you for cosplaying a black character: nobody should yell at you for that because that's stupid.
but OP maybe use this opportunity to think about what it means that your imagined (or actual) discomfort while cosplaying matters more to you than the fact that people who are not white have SIGNIFICANTLY less representation in pretty much any given fandom.
