I think you've seen just one side of fandom. I've seen another side, where all the women are pretty much looked down on except for Arya. Like I could not find someone who was a fan of any other female character. Well, a couple liked Ygritte, but mostly people forgot about her.

I couldn't stand Sansa to begin with but as of the last book and her character development I cannot wait to see her really get rolling.
