I think the Cersei apologists and stans are ridiculous too (though I do like her character and find her interesting) but you know what? it's almost kind of nice to have people leather pantsing female characters instead of male characters for a change. A while back, it seemed like pretty much everyone bashed female characters and hurled ridiculously sexist slurs at them just for breathing near their precious male characters (oh, Relena Peacecraft...) while the men had dozens of people rushing to excuse their horrific acts because they were attractive. Of course, people have now taken it too far in the other direction (like with Ceresi. And Regina. Good God, the Regina stans...) but still, it's an interesting change of pace.

Meh at least with Regina that character is legitimately trying to become a better person for Henry and redeem herself. Cersei's just on a downward spiral into becoming even more loathsome.

ayrt

I like that about Regina's character but I just hate that I've seen so many people who, like the Snapefen and Loki fans before them, don't realize that you can like a character without excusing all of their misdeeds and flaws and turning everyone else into the villains instead of them so they can be woobified martyr.

sa

note: I'm aware that some people are still very sexist towards women in fiction and I didn't mean to make it seem like it doesn't happen any more. I just think it's less rampant than it was when I first started getting into fandom about a decade ago
