You know, I think that if you look back at a failed relationship (or a relationship that was terminated), you can pinpoint a moment when you knew, deep down, that it just wouldn't work anymore and even though you may have ploughed on, it just wasn't the same as before. Sometimes that moment might be something relatively shallow like yours and I don't see much wrong with that.

Secret because: Of all the reasons I had (and in retrospect there were an embarrassing amount of straight up should have been dealbreakers) to make me realize I was always going to be unhappy in the relationship no matter how hard I tried and I couldn't even list a reason I was trying... that was the one?
