Well, this was a guy who emphatically stated that the fucking Penguin was too unrealistic to adapt to his work. I wouldn't have trusted his take on either of these two, were he to even deign them worthy enough of being used.

Yeah, he wasn't a fan of the more outlandish villains, so I doubt he would use those two even if he did more movies. And if he did, OP would probably not like his take.

What on earth did he think was unrealistic about a fat rich guy with mob ties? I mean, of all Batman's villains, the Penguin strikes me as one of the least cartoonish. Ditch or tone down the hi-tech umbrellas and bird obsession (which a lot of comic writers do) and he's a bad guy that could appear in pretty much any crime/action movie.
