I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO FELT THIS WAY.

Arrested Development isn't the most realistic show ever. That's part of the point. But it generally at least stayed true to its own canon, and WE SAW FLASHBACKS OF LINDSAY AND MICHAEL AS KIDS PLENTY OF TIMEA, AND SHE DID NOT LOOK THREE YEARS OLDER. Also Michael is not a moron, and Gob would have been old enough to remember the whole thing, and basically it MAKES NO SENSE.

The whole development was clearly pulled out of the writer's asses, it doesn't really make the story any better, and I haaaaaaate it. Seriously, all that for a throwaway joke about Michael not liking older women? I'm getting pissy again just thinking about it.

There were some parts that made sense to me - the whole "Wait, Aunt Lindsay's not my real aunt?" question, the recurring little stuff like that.

However, yeah, she didn't look older and girls hit growth spurts usually before boys and stuff.

GOB's kind of oblivious to everything, but yeah, I agree with your points. I was kind of annoyed with that storyline.

I would have been fine with her being adopted as the payoff to all the running jokes about Maeby and George Michael and such -- if they hadn't thrown in she was three years older. As it happens, I'm three years older than my brother, and not only were we developmentally on different planets for much of our childhood, I was a head taller than him until high school. (He is now 6'1". I am not.) No one would have *ever* believed we were twins.

I suppose you can handwave some of it by saying they didn't spend a lot of time around other children, and you're right that Gob wouldn't have cared -- but, seriously, that's a long way to go for a dumb joke.

I don't know why I get so stuck on the point, but there it is.

I always say Gob as being a lot more perceptive than people give him credit for. He's egotistical and self=centered, but I doubt he would have forgotten that his little brother's twin sister is really his older(?) adopted sister? Presumably Gob was old enough to remember when Lindsay first came into the family. I don't know, the whole adopted story line didn't seem to have much thought put into it anyway.

I thought the whole point of the show is that she's as Bluth as a Bluth can get, regardless of her biological parents.
