...Based on your last line I'm assuming you're talking about larping [which is something you really might want to clear up because 'rping' actually covers a *lot* of different types of gameplay.]

Depending on circumstances/how dedicated you are you can hide things in the lining of your clothes [or better, the sems since the stitches won't be as obvious], or depending on the type of hat you have, sometimes they have a flap/sem-ish type of bit of fabric that sticks up if you think they won't be likely to mess with it, or you think it wouldn't be likely to fall out.
