Then you completely missed the point. The movie ended with Jason carrying Freddy's VERY MUCH ALIVE head away , showing that the two had set aside their differences and could kill sexy teenagers together. At its heart, Freddy vs. Jason is about friendship. By being unable to reconcile your differences with your friends, you've proven that you can't survive the night.
