More like "fandom isn't into people being exclusively white." Whether or not people like balding is debatable, but from what I've seen of Night Vale fandom, they want a little more diversity than yet another white dude.

Eh, considering that 99% of the Cecils I've seen in the fandom are white, blonde, with a third eye I'm not entirely sure that's really what's going on with Cecil specifically. Carlos? Yes - and that is *awesome* - but I'm not sure that really applies to Cecil.

But it is another white dude.

I feel it's kind of insulting to the VA actor to say, "We like your voice but your skin color is all wrong." I can see if he was voicing an already designed character or if you, personally, had designed Cecil out before you heard the VA but if your first thought when you see the VA in the flesh is, "Ew, another white dude," there's something wrong with you.

Funny you mention that. See the reason why people would probably call me racist is because I have a hard time slashing black character from TV series. But I would actually love to slash them, it's just that a very big number of those characters are either bald or have hair that is shorn so short it's close to baldness. And I'm about as passionate about hair as Cecil. I have the same problem with white characters or any character of any race - if they are bald or close to bald, shipping them with anyone is hard.

(Also agreeing with the other anon - the overwhelming majority of Cecil fanart portays him as white while almost no fanart portrays him as balding.)

If you can imagine them in a slash relationship, why can't you just imagine they've grown their hair?

Because I already have trouble imagining their faces as they are. I have trouble imagining how they'd look with hair. I am completely unable to imagine what someone like, say, Vin Diesel looks like with hair. Just can't do it. It might be different with actors who actually had hair at some point of their career and you might find pictures of that. But if it's someone who always had the same non-hairstyle, it's hard.

I have the same problem. Hair is the most attractive part of the human body to me.

I've realized it the moment Connor from ACIII shaved his head.

That was a very heartbreaking scene (and it didn't help that my game kept glitching and he had that hairstyle when he was actually supposed to still have long hair.) I was very glad that there were costumes with an "always up" hood.
