Unless you really, really, REALLY are good at hiding your power level, your parents will know you're nerdy. Porny fanfiction and fanart aren't really that new, either.

What I'm saying is that I'm sure your parents love you and that this won't be their memory of you. Hell, they might just find it funny.

I really doubt that, if you die, the thing they worry most about will be their dead child's porn collection. It will be that their dead child is dead.

Granted I'm saying that as someone who found her mom's erotica books. Once you realize your own mother not only read Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty series but keeps the books in the bookcase in the living room shit like Fifty Shades isn't all that alarming.

Look, IF YOUR PARENTS HATE PORN AND HAVE ACTUALLY TOLD YOU SO RATHER THAN YOU ASSUMING THEY ARE PRUDES JUST BECAUSE THEY HAD SEX THAT RESULTED IN YOU (HEY YOUR PARENTS TOTALLY FUCKED AND THEY PROBABLY TALK DIRTY), do something about your collection. Password it. Keep it on a separate drive. But if not, seriously, your parents will not be that worried.

My grandfather remarried about 10 years after my grandma died, and then moved out of the in-law suite of our house, and boxed up a bunch of old stuff and gave it to my mom. She moved, and has recently been going through some of those old boxes.

And found box of naked photos grandma had taken for grandpa. Plus some home movies (she said she'd never been so happy not to have a means of playing the tape).

(She then scanned and posted the not-totally naked pictures of grandma posing to facebook in an album titled "Who knew Mom was such a minx?")

I also have a hard time imagining most parents would even be interested in reading through a lot of erotic fanfic. It takes time and effort to read things, and if you're not familiar with the fandom/characters to begin with, I assume it'd just be kind of boring unless the sex was right at the beginning.

Fanart, on the other hand, yeah.

Seriously. My mom found porny fanart I made in my sketchbook and she just rolled her eyes at my taste in characters and asked why the hell I'm so weird. She still loves me and thinks it's great that I draw.

It's incredibly embarrassing but not necessarily the end of the world. (Although I no longer draw porn with traditional media after that...)

If discovery of your porn stash makes "OMG porn" your parents predominant memory of you thereafter, then your family probably has bigger problems. Most likely, it'll be some quirk that about you that they'll ultimately choose to ignore about you in the grand scheme of things.
