I think it came the story where some people started developing extra eyes from...something? At least, that's what I've seen bouncing around the fandom.

[Also, I think I've seen at least one person ship Josie/Angels].

I think it's more likely that Josie ships the angels herself.

Maybe from how the logo looks? I think that's why there's an obsession with purple in Tumblrfandom WtNV too.
