Honestly, I was really excited to see Disney doing a 2D animated film again, so I went into PatF expecting to like it... and then I didn't. It was a huge disappointment because I'd been so psyched up for it and then it just fell so flat for me.

Fair enough. I just see a lot of people dismissing TPatF out of hand because it wasn't enough like XYZ DisRen film, and that's a little disappointing.

This. It was so beautiful, and I was so looking forward to it, and then I just spent the entire movie not caring. Well, except for the scene where Tiana gets knocked into the buffet table at the party and Charlotte's only concern is "Oh my God, are you okay? Come on, let's get you cleaned up." I got a little choked up at that, because even after all the kindness and cheer Charlotte had shown up to that point I still wasn't expecting her to put her friend first so unhesitatingly.

Oh man, that scene always makes me tear up.
