Tipping culture makes me not want to eat out ever, or move (permanently) to a place with no tipping culture, like Japan or Australia. There are restaurants all over first world countries that don't tip, and they make make plenty of money, so there's just no fucking reason for restaurant owners to get away with paying their workers less than minimum wage elsewhere.

Either that, or just add a 15% service charge to all bills - and include it right there on the menu. (Many restaurant already do this, I realize - and I approve.) If nothing is the server's fault, why allow customers to penalize them? If you go to another low paid service and have a bad experience, you can't just take it out of the worker's wage - why should you be allowed to at a restaurant?
