It's an accent thing, isn't it? I have an irish friend who says fucken, so that's be how I'd spell it if I was writing an irish character.

Most of the people I know who spell it that way are not Irish. "Fuckin'" is obviously "fucking" -- "fucken" is just stupid.

I don't see anything wrong with g-dropping. Technically there is no G to drop -- it's still the same word, a present participle, and perfectly fine when trying to write informal language. "Fucken" has no basis in anything except people who don't know how to fuckin' spell. There is no "fuckeng."
