I can understand that. I don't seem to get into ships now the way I did when I was young. I was so unabashedly passionate back then, and now I'm just...blah. :-/

I hear you there. I think with age comes more critical thinking, especially if you write or read a lot. I do both so the more thought I put into a ship the more I learn about them, and sometimes that does tend to show me all the problems with the ship as well as the good points.

On the plus side, they're easy to write like a real, believable couple with real problems.

On the downside, sometimes that does kill the squealing fangirl that used to exist within me.

But usually I find I can still love a ship like I did when I was younger--just without the blind optimism "nothing will ever go wrong it will always work out." (That said, it means I have to REALLY love character dynamics and know they'll work out before I can ship something really hard.)

sorry, off topic, but it's really funny that you commented on this secret-- I was about to comment on it saying that i feel the same but most of my childhood ships were supports from the gba games, your avatar included, so I laughed out loud when I saw it.

HAHAHAHA <33333333333333 You rock, anon. :D

That's funny. I think I like FE7 supports a lot because I've had years to pick through them and decide EXACTLY what I like the best.

KentLyn is my flagship (and Hector/Farina) for FE7 but man I've put YEARS of thought into those pairings. (AKA I AM A HUGE DORK AHHHH.)

Thanks for the comment it made my night just because I don't know. It did. (Sorry if you see a similar post on tumblr under the FE tag anon; I wrote up a more thoughtful post and put it there.)
