THIS.

Ughhhhh I was taught at what was basically a fundamentalist Christian school, and so many of the people there thought that anyone not Christian was basically immoral and evil.

But on the flipside, I can't stand the type of non-religious people who sneer at anyone who's religious/spiritual, and considers them to be ignorant, primitive or stupid.

Religion and spirituality don't automatically preclude free thought and intelligence.

This. You can't judge people based on what they do or don't believe. Period.

I realized as soon as I posted this how naive it would sound. Obviously I mean within reason - you can judge someone for being racist. You can judge someone for protesting funerals. You can't assume that because they're Christian that they go around picketing funerals and throwing Bibles at people.

That's a pretty good distinction.

If somebody says they believe in Freyja, all I can assume from that is that they believe in Freyja. I can't assume that they're racist, sexist, homophobic, or that their ancestors are Vikings.
