People who buy into the fallacy of the golden mean -- the idea that when two sides disagree, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I get the instinct to be fair, but sometimes one side is completely wrong and the other side is completely right, and other times one side is a lot more right than the other.

Or that one side may represent a far larger number of people or those people who have more information/experience, but we have to give all sides equal time and weight in the name of equality, as if acknowledging "very few people actually think this, and those who do have no real data to back it up" is horribly wrong.

Exactly. We do not have to give equal time (and worse, equal credibility) to every crank with an opinion.

YES. I hate the golden mean fallacy more than most things. It's partially why I quit watching South Park years ago.
