As opposed to watching them for...?

Seriously, tons of people only watch movies for costumes. This should have been chucked into the bottom pile as n!s.

Yes.

Of course there are other reasons to watch historical movies/shows (I love history in general: historical events are often way more imaginative and dramatic than fiction, and historical periods are just as useful a metaphor as science fiction to explore human nature), but the costumes are always a very welcome and appreciated bonus or even the prime motivator, especially when they are as beautiful as in the examples provided!

Sort of like a fashion show with plot, except the costumes are more esthetically pleasing than those most modern fashion shows...

What is fandom-y or secret-y about this?
