well, sorry if a goddamned child writing smut (which, btw, most archives INCLUDING LJ have an age limit) freaks some people out.

so you're entitled to your opinion but no one is allowed to disagree.

good to know, thx!

What's this crazy talk about not overreacting as an angry, weirded out group mob each time a child displays any understanding of the true nature of sexuality?!

You're crazy and should be in jail.

omg think of the children!

no, think of my own ass when the shit explodes and the angry parents decide to start dragging names through the mud.

or have we already forgotten the LJ Strikethrough debacles?

Re: not the op

[identity profile] runcible.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're not the OP, what are you so angry about?

Besides, Strikethrough was about people writing sex about the underaged, not the underaged writing about people having sex. I do not see how reading smut by a 12 year old would get your name brought up in any way if said child's parents found out.

Chill.

what.

are you new to the internet or something?

no, think of my own ass when the shit explodes and the angry parents decide to start dragging names through the mud.

Oh, you mean those same parents you were just threatening to tell about all this? Methinks you have fucked up priorities.

Re: not the op

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
And, what, as if the parents would blame the people who did the reading of it!

Re: not the op

[identity profile] allsunday.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
More likely they'd just threaten to sue fanfiction.net and get all the NC-17 stories taken down...OH WAIT. 8D;

I've convincingly written vampiric lesbians before! Or what one would assume blood-sucking lesbians would be like.

Last time I checked I wasn't one ha ha. :D

So I agree that argument doesn't hold up.

Re: not the op

[identity profile] runcible.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I didn't read smut online when I was 12 (LOL I was worried about child filters :() but I did read erotica in book form and could probably base it from that. XD Knowledge doesn't necessarily equal the act, and even if it did ... like I said, it's none of the OP's business?

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! I started writing smut when I was 11! I pwn you! :3

I started writing smut when I was 12, myself XD I just... wtf, if the kid were writing a, a horror story with would that be okay?

... also, why are you (uh that is not [livejournal.com profile] technophile but anonymous and the secret-poster etc.) complaining about MORE GOOD SMUT in fandom?

MY GOODNESS, IT'S A 12 YEAR OLD WHO IS A SEXUAL BEING. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN THE HISTORY OF LIFE.

srsly, the writing =/= the author. There's nothing pedophilic about finding porn written by a minor to be hot. (Sharing fantasies about adults with a minor = omg teh creepy? or something? what? I dunno!)

/someone who is currently 15. and still writing smut.

What twelve-year-old doesn't flick through naughty books soley for the raunchy bits? I know at that age I was furtively rifling through the Clan of the Cave Bear books to find the sex scenes.

Then I got disappointed with how badly written they were, and went back to writing and reading lemons.

Being twelve on the internet was awesome. :D

Lemon fic was so badly written ten years ago. I remember at one point sitting back from the computer, affronted, going "...the g-spot is not in the butt!".

Not Wal-Mart, but I totally did the sacred twelve-year-old ritual of Enter Library>Locate Smooshy Pirate Romance>Smooshy Pirate Romance Acquired!>I AM TOTALLY CHECKING OUT THESE SERIOUS REFERENCE BOOKS FOR MY HOMEWORK>Flee Like A Bunny.

You are not alone! I did this (though at different stores than Wal-Mart at age twelve) AND I used to go to huge rummage sales where they'd have their 'bag of books for a buck' on the last day and then furtively stuff the romance novels to the bottom of the bag and put the more acceptable, age-appropriate books on top and then cram them in the back of my closet when I got home. NO ONE EVER NOTICED until I was around seventeen and openly reading them and my Mom went "where did all these trashy novels come from?" XD
