not the op

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
so you don't find it disturbing that a 12 year old wrote smut convincingly?

Re: not the op

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
well, sorry if a goddamned child writing smut (which, btw, most archives INCLUDING LJ have an age limit) freaks some people out.

Re: not the op

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
so you're entitled to your opinion but no one is allowed to disagree.

good to know, thx!

What's this crazy talk about not overreacting as an angry, weirded out group mob each time a child displays any understanding of the true nature of sexuality?!

You're crazy and should be in jail.

omg think of the children!

Re: not the op

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
no, think of my own ass when the shit explodes and the angry parents decide to start dragging names through the mud.

or have we already forgotten the LJ Strikethrough debacles?

Re: not the op

[identity profile] runcible.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're not the OP, what are you so angry about?

Besides, Strikethrough was about people writing sex about the underaged, not the underaged writing about people having sex. I do not see how reading smut by a 12 year old would get your name brought up in any way if said child's parents found out.

Chill.

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
what.

are you new to the internet or something?

no, think of my own ass when the shit explodes and the angry parents decide to start dragging names through the mud.

Oh, you mean those same parents you were just threatening to tell about all this? Methinks you have fucked up priorities.

Re: not the op

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
And, what, as if the parents would blame the people who did the reading of it!

I've convincingly written vampiric lesbians before! Or what one would assume blood-sucking lesbians would be like.

Last time I checked I wasn't one ha ha. :D

So I agree that argument doesn't hold up.

Re: not the op

[identity profile] runcible.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I didn't read smut online when I was 12 (LOL I was worried about child filters :() but I did read erotica in book form and could probably base it from that. XD Knowledge doesn't necessarily equal the act, and even if it did ... like I said, it's none of the OP's business?

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! I started writing smut when I was 11! I pwn you! :3

[identity profile] norrowa.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:06 am (UTC)(link)

I started writing smut when I was 12, myself XD I just... wtf, if the kid were writing a, a horror story with would that be okay?

... also, why are you (uh that is not [livejournal.com profile] technophile but anonymous and the secret-poster etc.) complaining about MORE GOOD SMUT in fandom?

MY GOODNESS, IT'S A 12 YEAR OLD WHO IS A SEXUAL BEING. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN THE HISTORY OF LIFE.

srsly, the writing =/= the author. There's nothing pedophilic about finding porn written by a minor to be hot. (Sharing fantasies about adults with a minor = omg teh creepy? or something? what? I dunno!)

/someone who is currently 15. and still writing smut.

Re: not the op

[identity profile] khukuri.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
What twelve-year-old doesn't flick through naughty books soley for the raunchy bits? I know at that age I was furtively rifling through the Clan of the Cave Bear books to find the sex scenes.

Then I got disappointed with how badly written they were, and went back to writing and reading lemons.

Being twelve on the internet was awesome. :D

It's not their business to tell their parents.

so you don't find it disturbing that a 12 year old wrote smut convincingly?

I had my first orgasm when I was nine. It was awesome. ♥

Seriously, I don't get people like you who are SO FREAKED OUT over kids having sexualities. Toddlers masturbate because it feels good, for christ's sake. Girls are getting their periods at 8 years of age. I overhear pre-teens squealing over hot guys on a regular basis. And you're freaked out because a 12-year-old is having perfectly healthy and normal sexual fantasies about fictional characters? Grow up and enjoy the goddamn fic.

Re: not the op

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Hardly. Some people ARE smart enough at age 12 to realise that guys don't have 12 inch penises and be able to imagine emotions into the scene, without having done it themselves. I mean... I haven't. And I'm 22. I'm hoping that that doesn't mean I can't write convincingly. I also haven't done drugs, been a guy, killed anyone, gone on a quest, fallen for my same sex best friend, kidnapped anyone, but I can still write it. Okay so I have more reading experience because I'm 22. But C'mon. If you think 12 year olds know absolutely nothing, I don't know what rock you're living under. Sure, some are total idiots about it. but others have actually paid attention in sex ed class, perhaps had a talkative parent, and done some reading. That doesn't mean they're having sex, or planning to have sex sometime soon. When I was 12 I'd gotten into Mills and Boon books (when I was 9) which had graphic sex scenes. By age 7 I'd worked out how sex worked by reading a book about dog breeding and realising 'oh. Tab and slot. Gotcha', my mum had a health book that was mainly bought for pregnancy, but it also had a chapter on non pregnancy sexual positions, with illustrations. I must have read that by age 9 as well. By age 12 I'd read young adult books that involved teenage sex, romance, etc, with the full approval of my mother. And I'd seen tv and movies involving sex scenes. No, not porn, but since i knew WHAT was happening in the shadows, thanks to my official sex ed age 10, and all the other reading I'd done, I could write if I wanted to, very well, by age 12.

Re: not the op

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, because sexual cognizance totally doesn't develop before age 13. Girls don't find themselves masturbating as early as four years old and no studies have ever been done about this ever.

I mean I'm usually the big fandomsecrets OMGYOU'REALLCRAZY conservative, but fuck. Is it healthy for kids to have sex at that age? No. But it's totally normal AND healthy for the urges and curiosity far before that age.
