The fact that I love Aftercare fics but hate 90% of BDSM. The humiliation and feminization aspects completely squick me. If it was just "telling someone what to do firmly but lovingly," it'd be great.

Yes yes to this. I really dislike humiliation and not too fond of feminization but love me some D/s or BDSM otherwise. And mmmmmm aftercare. So rare to find fic like this though. The internet apparently loves their humiliation and embarrassment.

The closest I can get to loving and controlling most of the time is daddy kink. Which never really has aftercare but at least it has my other two. ;_;

I don't mind feminization when it's consensual, and the guy being feminized gets off on it or finds it empowering, but nonconsensual feminization or feminization as a form of humiliation is a big turnoff for me. It often comes across to me as very sexist or gender essentialist, like the worst thing you can do to a man is treat him like a woman or force him to act like one.

And humiliation in general tends to be very hit-or-miss for me. I don't mind it sometimes, but when it comes across to me as something intended to do damage to the target, or strikes me as something that would do damage to the target, I get squicked.

I like BDSM and D/s fic, but I'm very picky about what I'll read. 80% of what's out there reads like it was written by people who have no idea how D/s and bdsm actually work and can't be bothered to do any research, but the other 20% really hits my kinks.

Is humiliation and feminization really that common a thing in BDSM fics? Because I enjoy BDSM but am very much not into humiliation. There are so many other directions to go with it, though! If I had the time, I'd offer to write you something (poke me after October, maybe).

Feminization not as much. But humiliation seems to be verrryyy common. And it is very annoying. :(
