I didn't mind it so much since I think it is pretty close to how Bellatrix is post-Azkaban. I didn't really like it when she played Bellatrix the same in the flashback scene in GOF, though. I always felt that Bellatrix had pretty much lost it from being in Azkaban, not that she was always that way. She was always the sadist, but I think she would have been much more in control pre-Azkaban.

That was the impression I got of her, and of a lot of the Death Eaters in general - that Azkaban drove them crazy.
