The guy who wrote the script did address this, actually.

And I believe the name of the engine was derived from the slur, so yeah, it is still a point, but a sincere apology from the writer for his ignorance (who, from what I've seen of his tumblr, is a nice guy and a big proponent of diversity) is the best we can expect to get on the topic I think. The fact that he's willing to admit he made a mistake at all is more than pretty much anyone else in Hollywood would have done.
