it was definitely implied, but I don't think they ever flat out said she was in the game. one of the guard's comments definitely alludes to it though

if it helps, she then breaks out of prison and is a badass who takes charge of her own life so she wasn't exactly portrayed as a helpless victim

If you're referring to Leliana's Song, and thinking of skipping on that basis alone:

It's one of my favourite DLCs. Possibly my favourite. It's fabulous, and shows a heck of a lot about her as a character - and made me go from like/"meh" to loving her. She's a great, strong (if slightly amoral) protagonist. That and the fact that the rape's never explicitly shown - though you can pretty much deduce it - and I'd recommend seeing it through.
