Hormonal issues are (at least ime) not a big deal, OP. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it was.

My period stopped for three straight months when I was a freshman in high school. I knew it wasn't pregnancy since I'd never had sex. It turned out to be hormonal and I took some pills (I think estrogen supplements? not sure) and had a period within a week, and then it was back to normal.

Stress can also do this. Some people, I've heard, simply stop having a period for parts of the year that are more stressful. I'm not sure how normal that is though.
