I'm a little surprised no one is calling Troll on this. That was my first thought.

Tumblr and LJ seriously aren't THAT interesting.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
they are when you've got literally nothing else to dedicate time/attention to

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Life. Life is even more interesting.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Not really. It's same old shit, just another day/week/month/year/century/millenium.

Fandom is life.

Shrek is love, Shrek is life.

not when you are depressed/antisocial/shut-in/have social anxiety/what-have-you

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
I have clinical depression, and life is hard, often boring, and when you're struggling just to get out of bed every day, it can be very easy to end up stuck on the computer every day in an attempt to end the boredom.

THIS!

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I envy you that you don't think this is plausible. I really do.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
You've obviously not ever dealt with someone who has severely addictive tendencies. I used to be friends with someone who could only eat, sleep and breathe fandom, and it was kind of pathetic after a while.

I've got a friend on a disability pension type thing and all she does is fandom things and the odd game. IDK what she does, she's not exactly hugely active in any fandoms but hay maybe she's like the secret manager of some website or something idk

(Anonymous) 2013-08-20 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it's not, but it does help you procrastinate when you don't, yourself, want to do something. I think it's less the fandom, etc. fault, and more the fact that they're failing OUTSIDE of the internet that inside it is comforting.

Depression is why this could very well not be a troll.
