Depends on the fandom itself.

InuYasha fandom died down pretty hard after "Final Act" was finished; it was fairly slow when the manga was wrapping up too. The nail in my fandom participation for it was a falling out with someone I closely associated the show/manga with, and it was just too painful.

I definitely miss how much fun I had with my fandom friends and writing, but it's part of my past now and I've moved on. I see a screencap from the show, smile, and then go back to doing something else.
