I shift fandoms on a fairly regular basis. A single fandom may only hold my attention for a year, unless there's something about it that can hold me longer - like having multiple games, or continuing movie releases.

But I don't think of my moving on as "abandoning" them. I think of it as my attention getting drawn away by something shiny.

I remember all my fandoms with fondness, and in some cases will return to them for some random reading when I cnnot spot a fic in my current fandom that looks interesting, and I haven't read yet (I am a rather voracious reader).

And interestingly enough, my current fandom? Was one of my old fandoms. I'm just shipping n a different section this time around.
