6. It was Ven, not Roxas? Yeah, because there's such a big difference there. I'll probably get stoned for saying this, and I am aware Roxas and Ven are not the same person (yet), but I'm not really impressed with how much he resembles Roxas. In the secret ending you could at least see a definite difference. Now it just looks like Roxas in different clothes, and that annoys me. I'm sure Nomura will be pulling a mindfuck on us that somehow attempts to explain everything, but that doesn't change that I'm a bit stingy after he decided to milk the KH franchise with games we don't really need (the ones on portable), like it's a new FF7. Now commence shitstorm.

(Anonymous) 2007-10-07 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)I laughed because it's so true. It's probably gonna be like ROXAS "DIED" AND TELEPORTED BACK TO VEN!!1 THE SHADOW ON THE BEACH IS AXEL!!1

Never said I didn't love it. I definitely wouldn't have spent money on KH2:FM+ if that was the case - I actually enjoy the gameplay. But I didn't play it to see more of Axel or Roxas, and I don't think the new plots and characters are superior to the previous games', even if the graphics and overall entertainment value did increase.

Personally, I love all the characters and plots, but the gameplay itself had improved enough that I tend to like playing KH2 more, aside from the looooong intro. I agree, though, that in and of itself the plot and characters aren't superior.

I've got a love/hate thing going with Nomura. He's turning KH into another FFVII milk-it-for-all-it's-worth sequel fest, and I hate it. I hate it a lot. The man can't even keep his own canon straight, which KHII more than amply shows. I wish he'd figure out his own plot lines before going and making like four more games.
If he can somehow salvage all this, I will bow down and worship, seriously. But I am just oh so slightly doubtful.
Re: 6
To me the thing that concerns me most about the KH plot is that it seems like it's modular. Like... they've got about half of a next game planned after the end of one, but they don't have any real idea where they're going in the long run. (I'd like to cite the multiple Ansems as proof of this - and now the other Xehanort. DX Name changes FOR THE LOSE)

Really? I don't see it.
