Sorry, but I hate secrets like these. It's not OUR fault that OTHER fans are not as inspired to write fics and draw fanart for the pairings they like as we are.

If it's variety you want, provide it. Or maybe you should try looking for fics somewhere other than Livejournal (http://www.idletheme.com/objection/index.php).

Yes, thank you very much, Croik.

I was just thinking over why this secret really, really bothered me. Even after I responded, I was still sort of...annoyed about it. And I think it's the implication that by writing something I love, I'm doing something wrong. And not only that, but to somehow shift the fandom karmic balance, I should write things I'm not interested in, solely for the sake of representation.

Seriously. Is it our fault that Phoenix and Edgeworth are dynamic, interesting, and--dare I say it--incredibly sexy together? Certainly not! And I'm not going to apologize for liking and supporting it to anyone.

Of course, I love variety, too. But it's kind of silly to "blame" fandom for something being popular. We can only write what we're interested in.

IF YOU WRITE THAT, I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE MURDERING MY SEX DRIVE FOREVER. THE WORLD WILL NEVER KNOW THE JOY OF BABY MUSOUKAS. WOULD THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY, CROIK? WOULD IT?

Well put! I'm a big supporter of the "write it yourself" solution to situations like these. Blaming other fans for not catering to your unspoken wants is really immature.

I agree. I admit that I'm not a big NaruMitsu fan, and I'd love to see more gen and fic for other pairings, but instead of complaining about it I'm starting to write what I want to see. Seriously people, the only way to get more variety in fandom is to make it. And besides, you might even meet some fans you didn't know exist, or others might even be inspired to write different stuff. You never know until you try.

Well, in fairness, she does write alternate couples. Which is fine, good for her. I just don't see why I'm obligated to follow along, or how I made her hate my OTP by mere virtue of it existing in substantial quantities.
