I like her and I think she's beautiful, but I feel like the movies missed the mark by not giving her some magical "enhancements" via CG to really make her feel like she had Veela blood-- maybe just giving her a glow once in a while, or making her eyes an unnatural color or making her hair... sparkle, idk. My impression of Fleur was always that she was ~magical looking, more than just beautiful

Ooh, count me in on this opinion.

It's hard to find an actress who can hit the note of "supernaturally attractive beyond everybody else in the cast," and I don't think movie!Fleur hit it (even just looking at the other Beauxbatons girls, plenty of them are at least as attractive as she is). But it's hard to find an actor as big as Hagrid's supposed to be, too, and they compensated by putting in the extra camera work necessary to pull it off. Should've given Fleur's magical-creature heritage the same amount of attention.

Yeah, I always felt she should've looked a little more unnatural, which I think op is trying to say. The actress they choose looks lovely but doesn't really fit the role, in my opinion.
