I remember thinking, when the movie came out, that while the actress was certainly pretty enough for the role, her makeup and hair were all wrong for someone who was supposed to be particularly eyecatching.

Meanwhile Hermione's hair and makeup were much too flattering for the character.

Yes, this. She's a beautiful woman, but the styling was unattractive. Though it did look convincingly 'schoolgirl' (not quite grown into her looks) - the problem is that the Hogwarts girls don't, particularly.
