If GOB and Tony's relationship is ignored or treated as a joke in the next season, I'll be pissed off too!

It's a comedy, so it probably will be treated as a joke (or roofie-circled into non-existence).

Sad, but probably true. :(

And that's a shame because it was nice seeing Gob make friends (partners?) with someone who seemed to genuinely enjoy being around him. But since the Bluths aren't particularly known for their strong relationships, I doubt Gob/Tony will last.

I really hope it isn't. :/

GOB and Tony had great chemistry and to see GOB connect with someone is nice to see. It would be great to see a gay relationship in AD that's not treated as a joke, but instead has lots of funny relationship drama in it.

Also Tony phoned GOB at the end, so SOMETHING needs to come of it.

I can see GOB avoiding Tony for a bit as he becomes the Bluth's companies boss, but he gets drawn back to Tony and family drama unfolds in hilarious and awakward ways.

I hope it's treated as a joke, because that's the show. That said, I hope the joke isn't "lol gay people", because I know they can do better than that, and there is a lot of room for comedy in that relationship that isn't all about GOB's orientation.

The joke of their relationship in season 4, as I saw it, was essentially that they're both so dishonest, and via such unnecessarily convoluted schemes, that it's covering up that they're both also lying to themselves about who they are and what they want. Which incidentally leads to gay sex in disguises for reasons that no longer make any semblance of sense. Hey, works for me.

Yeah this. The joke is the dumbass orouboros of deceit that Gon and Tonu have gotten themselves into. They're not going to do a relationship involving Gob that doesn't end hilariously because of the Bluths being a black pit of narcissism.

Same anon

Sorry, I should have clarified. I do agree that it should be treated jokingly because of the show's genre, but yeah if the joke ends up being "lol gay people!" or even "lol they both take roofies to forget each other and revert back to rivals" then I'll be disappointed.
