Yes yes yes yes yes yes YES!

(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
OH FUCK YES

(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Very yes! I love RDJ in most things but I hated him as Sherlock Holmes. Jeremy Brett is the best (and sexiest) Sherlock ever.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
While I will eternally love how RDJ and Jude Law play off of each other, so that will cement his Sherlock in my heart....I need to find out who this guy is and watch his version of Holmes, stat.

Jeremy Brett from the Granada series during the late 80s/early 90s.

I'd recommend starting with A Scandal in Bohemia

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
You SO do. Instant conversion incoming. Lots of the eps are on You tube.

Mmm, Jeremy. But really, why choose? I'll take all three.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
This, man, my bed's big enough to fit us all. Sexy, sexy, and more sexy.

Basil Rathbone can watch but I haven't decided yet whether I'll let him join in.

[Picture is the actor Jeremy Brett playing Sherlock Holmes from the Granada Television TV show "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. He is a man with slightly rosy light skin and neatly combed short brown hair. He has gray or hazel eyes and a serious demeanor. He is wearing a white shirt and a gray jacket suit. He is sitting on a chair, with an open wooden cabinet behind him, and is pointing his index finger to the corner of his lip, thoughtful.]

Forget Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Junior... HE is the sexiest Sherlock Holmes to me.

You can deduce me all day, you sexy man.

Until a couple of years ago, we were called Sherlockians and eligible for inclusion in Sherlockian societies even if we didn't care about ACD's canon. Now a lot of the societies are excluding all mention of adaptations because it's considered immoral to only exclude BBC Sherlock fans even though some of them specify that show is the reason for the clause.

This man was a huge influence on my teenage self and obsession for Sherlock. So, yes.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
You and me both, secret poster.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Agree x 1,000

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
He was my first Holmes. Others are wonderful, but they never quite measure up.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Jeremy Brett is the best. <3 I enjoy the other adaptations to varying degrees, but he's my quintessential Holmes.

I recently started rewatching Granada Holmes and I completely agree with this secret.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
+ infinity

Yum. Even better in motion. And his voice!

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Jeremy Brett was the BEST Holmes ever and I've seen them all, including some really obscure ones like the Russian TV show from the 80s and several animated versions.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-24 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Rinkydink Curdlesnoot is fucking hideous though, not sexy in the slightest

(Anonymous) 2013-08-24 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I was actually shocked that I was so attracted to him when I finally got around to watching it last month. I agree, he was an amazing Holmes & there was a hell of a lot of attractiveness. Those suits fit him perfectly. *sigh*
