I know it is a kink meme, but I hate that the last months have been mostly creepy underage/underage-extreme abuse like stories. Crazy to say, but I miss old school Supernatural Kink. Thank god for other fandoms and their memes.

I realize kinkmemes run the spectrum. And people should be able to request what they want, whatever, but sometimes I wish there was a not-quite-as-rapey-meme for SPN, because I enjoy the kinkmeme experience usually but I just can't with that one. It feels like every other prompt is underage non-con (which, fine, read/write what you want, but even skimming the prompts messes me up, I wish there was a milder meme for delicate flowers like myself that want their depraved sexual acts performed between consensual adults.)

Intriguing idea. I'm into kinky shit, but some of the convoluted torture and rape scenarios that people request in those memes are just so far out there that I can't wrap my head around that. What I'd give for a good old fashioned "vanilla" BDSM scene...

I wonder, if you started such a meme, how would you go about policing it to weed out the really freaky stuff? "Gen Kink Meme" just sounds weird to me...

I don't know, it could go the cutesy word-smash way, like Consink Meme, bring all your kinks and all participants approval! But I feel like it would just get people upset and I'd get accused of kink shaming which is a whole can of worms I'd rather not open.

God I know. I am not into the SPN fandom that much anymore but it is just the worst. And I guess I am used to other fandoms, but it seems like SPN kink meme is the only one that doesn't have any at least SOME gen prompts and fills. Most others are less kink memes more "Story Prompt Memes". And none of them have such a large number of underage and noncon prompts.

It is weird. I only check it every few months (when I have forgotten why I was avoiding it in the first place) and I'm always surprised that it's a good 75% rape and underage (the incest part is less shocking, obviously) and no gen or fun cracky stuff to be found.

This is kind of awful, but whenever I see that happen to a kink meme - like, not just one or two underage prompts, but an ongoing swarm of them like that - I wonder if it's been colonised by paedophiles who may or may not be into the fandom content but who know they've found an unusually permissive place to let their kink out.

It seems so bizarre to me that consensual sex is now considered 'vanilla' in fandom circles. Like, I enjoy a large variety of kinks, just...with consent. I wish there was someplace I could find it.

The way I see it, the kinkmeme started to get all those rapey/underage/animal-focused (for lack of a better adjective) fills a long time ago. And because they weren't shut down, people from all over the internet that weren't into SPN but were into those kinks just started migrating to that kinkmeme. And now, they basically run the show.

On principle, I think it's a good thing that there's no kink-shaming in a kinkmeme (which is something that seems to happen in so many kinkmemes, I don't even get the point. Well, ok, I get it when people refuse based on legal concerns). In practice, I understand your frustration, OP!

In addition, I hate (hate hate HATE) that even though the meme itself divides underage, rps and overage (? is that the right term?) into separate posts, there's only one pinboard account for all them.

Much as I'm not here for incest, a/b/o, spn rps or several of the other kinks people come up with, I can generally scroll past that stuff with little upset. Occassionaly I'll come across something that does really squick me, but it's usually soon forgotten.

The (extreme-)underage ones though. They make me want to burn it all to the ground and vomit my rage out all over the ashes. Just the promts are so vile and so horrible, I can't imagine (or don't want to imagine) the sort of people who are writing or filling them, and detest the fact that by occasionally checking into the pinboard account I have to be in any way associated with them.

Not to go all spokesperson here but at the end of the day, the meme is wholly its prompts and fills, if people want to see more gen/cracky fics, or fics of any genre, you've got to actually request/fill them....
