I realize kinkmemes run the spectrum. And people should be able to request what they want, whatever, but sometimes I wish there was a not-quite-as-rapey-meme for SPN, because I enjoy the kinkmeme experience usually but I just can't with that one. It feels like every other prompt is underage non-con (which, fine, read/write what you want, but even skimming the prompts messes me up, I wish there was a milder meme for delicate flowers like myself that want their depraved sexual acts performed between consensual adults.)

Intriguing idea. I'm into kinky shit, but some of the convoluted torture and rape scenarios that people request in those memes are just so far out there that I can't wrap my head around that. What I'd give for a good old fashioned "vanilla" BDSM scene...

I wonder, if you started such a meme, how would you go about policing it to weed out the really freaky stuff? "Gen Kink Meme" just sounds weird to me...

I don't know, it could go the cutesy word-smash way, like Consink Meme, bring all your kinks and all participants approval! But I feel like it would just get people upset and I'd get accused of kink shaming which is a whole can of worms I'd rather not open.

Maybe you could do it as a multi-fandom kink meme? That way it was maybe seen as less an attack on SPN and more an avoidance of the stuff that genuinely upsets you (which it basically is, anyway). Alternately, I wonder if it would be possible to set up a kinkmeme where the kinks were just separate threads with non-con/dub-con/underage/any other reasonably triggery stuff set separately from the rest.

Idk, I just don't think asking for a little inclusion/consideration is the same as kink-shaming, but this is fandom, so I understand being cautious of the reaction. :(

God I know. I am not into the SPN fandom that much anymore but it is just the worst. And I guess I am used to other fandoms, but it seems like SPN kink meme is the only one that doesn't have any at least SOME gen prompts and fills. Most others are less kink memes more "Story Prompt Memes". And none of them have such a large number of underage and noncon prompts.

It is weird. I only check it every few months (when I have forgotten why I was avoiding it in the first place) and I'm always surprised that it's a good 75% rape and underage (the incest part is less shocking, obviously) and no gen or fun cracky stuff to be found.

This is kind of awful, but whenever I see that happen to a kink meme - like, not just one or two underage prompts, but an ongoing swarm of them like that - I wonder if it's been colonised by paedophiles who may or may not be into the fandom content but who know they've found an unusually permissive place to let their kink out.

That is why underage is one of my 100% NO kinks. Just some of those stories sound exactly like stories you would hear about pedophiles writing/reading. And it just.....no.

...Ngl, I can enjoy a bit of the teenage-therefore-perpetually-horny trope if it's done well. There's a few pairings I'll read where the characters are underage in canon, mostly canon pairings, where the emotional aspect of discovery is a catchy part of the ship. I guess the line for me is a) after puberty, obv, and b) that the underage part is not the KINK, the KINK is that they're undersexed and overemotional.

I have found that as I get older (as in, farther from being a teen myself) that I am still really picky and prefer the actual sexytimes to happen at an appropriate age of consent, but I do love the hell out of some teen angst and awkward sexual desire and fumbling through sex and wanting it all the time, etc. But really, this trope works for me when people do the mid-twenties virgin thing (not like that's that weird anyway, but when they play the character exactly like a dweeby awkward teen, I am all over it as long as it still reads close enough to canon characterization), or the middle aged virgin thing, or just the "it's been a while and this character is super awkward and horny" thing.

I forgot where I was going, because omg, I love this trope and its variants.
