Putting aside the whole author thing for a second, I have to say that it was just a bad movie all around. I haven't read the books but I found Clary utterly useless and the entire thing kind of 'meh'. It felt less like it was made for everyone (the director didn't seem to realize that not everything translates well from book to screen) and more like it was made solely for fans of the book so people like me, who haven't read the books, just kind of left shaking the heads and feeling like they wasted their time/money.

I'm pretty sure Clary ends up with the guy who turns out to be her brother, so...be glad it tanked and you won't have to see that.

Honestly, knowing this might have spiced up the movie for me. At least in a WTFery sense.

I think it would have made the story a lot more interesting if they had been truly siblings.

That's another thing: Your (pen?)name is Cassie Cla(i)re, and you call your character Clary? Are you serious? My name is Alex, I'll call my totally original character Lexi. THAT ISN'T RELATED TO ALEX AT ALL WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

If you squish her real name and pen name together, you get "Clary". Such creative naming!
