If lyrics are not part of the ~actual music, then they shouldn't be included in the first place. If you don't want words, go listen to classical instrumental music. But when there are words, they are part of the point of the piece, part of the music, and dismissing them as ancillary or irrelevant is pretty musically illiterate, actually
