whoops, I didn't see that you reposted here.
I'll reply again here if Case is deleting that one:

there are actually MULTIPLE blogs devoted to doing this in the WTNV fandom; honestly, it grossed me out so much that I not only left the fandom, I stopped listening to the show altogether.

I can understand being upset because a character is drawn too fair, that's fine, but there is a RIGHT way to do it-- maybe send them an ask saying "hey your character is too white"?-- and a wrong way, which is posting their shit like that and encouraging people to go anon and flood the artists with hate mail (which I have heard of happening in more than one case).

OP. You articulated this much better than I did, and Night Vale is definitely going into my "Love This Thing, Avoid the Fandom" pile (along with Doctor Who, oh boy).

I hope I'm able to eventually forget what a bunch of assholes the fandom is and go back to listening to the show, because I was really enjoying it. Now it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
