Things like this is all I can imagine in Hobbit fics (or whatever your medieval style fandom is). Like Aragorn wears the same clothes for weeks while running around in the woods and not bathing. He would be so rank and gross. That is one of the places I am completely okay with fics not being exactly realistic.

Y'see, while I think OP's secret is awesome, Id don't think I'd be able to write smut for a potentially smelly adventure-fic like LOTR without working in bathtime somehow.

I think they could still be realistic just because everyone would be used to the rankness and grossness, so it wouldn't necessarily be a factor for them.

I do a geeky role-playing thing in the woods and after a weekend, while everyone is rank and gross from running around and not showering, you honestly don't notice. I imagine your sense of smell wouldn't even function after weeks of it. /nerd
