I like it, but I understand why the fact it's a podcast would put you off. I often can't listen to more than one episode every couple of days. This isn't because it's bad but instead because I find it hard to focus on just audio. (music is obviously different because I don't have to catch every word (if there are words), there's usually some sort of catchy beat and songs are generally shorter than 20 minutes) I have a similar problem with audiobooks- I have to do something, such as chores, exercise or even just playing games on the internet while listening, but then my attention often shifts to what I'm physically doing and then I have to skip back to see what I missed. It's annoying. Night Vale is great, but I've only managed to listen to 10 episodes so far because of this.

It's odd, because I can focus easily on the written word for hours but the fact that Night Vale is audio-based and only has one voice actor means that my attention drifts.

I wonder if some sort of slide show might work, set to the audio. It wouldn't be exact drawings of what was being described, because I feel that that would ruin the mystery, but maybe occult logos and symbols and general weirdness that would fit in with the episode. Unfortunately I don't think my skills would be up to the job, but if any fan does attempt something similar I'd be interested to see if it would work or not.
