Voice of dissent, but I'm loving the Wii U. Don't have a huge amount of games right now (they're ungodly expensive in my country, so I only get the ones I REALLY want), but Scribblenauts is way too much fun, and I spent more time on Miiverse than I probably should. Got a preorder for Wind Waker HD, and I'm basically glued to every bit of Smash Bros info I can find. There's also possibly going to be a Pokemon game on it which looks intruiging!

But yeah, they can take a while to get up to speed. I really do hope that the Wii U does fabulously well, though! (Same with the 3DS. I love my 3DS.)

I also hope it does well. I love that Nintendo is still focusing on innovations in gameplay and I think the WiiU sounds pretty neat. Of course, as with all systems, I'm not going to get it until a specific game comes out that I want to play, so I don't own one yet, but I plan to eventually.

It is VERY neat. I do think there were a few areas where it was mishandled, particularly the name (most people discount it as a Wii add-on, when it's an entirely separate console), but I think it is worth getting one.

And yeah, same here, honestly. I was going to wait until Wind Waker came out or it went on sale, whichever came first. It ended up being the sale, and I grabbed the basic model and Nintendoland for $300. (Basic console normally retails at $350, deluxe at $430, A+ first-party games like Zelda at $80. I think Nintendoland is hovering around the $50 mark, so it was basically $100 off. And I got Scribblenauts preowned for about $40. Yeah, Australia is goddamn expensive.)

Same here, I love my Wii U. I have a pretty decent number of the games available for it at this point and I've enjoyed them all, especially those where the gamepad adds a fun touch (no pun intended) to multiplayer mode, like New Super Mario/Luigi U's Boost Mode. One of my absolute favorite experiences with it so far, though, has to be the Gamer "minigame" in Game & Wario - it recreates the feeling of playing a handheld game far past my bedtime while trying to keep an eye out for my parents all too well, hahaha!

And, like you, I'm always on the lookout for information on the new Smash Brothers and hoping to get Wind Waker HD, since I missed it the first time around.

I don't have many, but that's more to do with how ungodly expensive anything gaming-related is in Australia. Heh.

And yeah, I seriously missed the boat - no pun intended - on Wind Waker! My brother got it for his birthday, I watched his playthrough, messed around exploring and doing sidequests for a bit, intended to play it when he was done... got home one day and he had traded in the bloody thing for more XBox games. AHHHH.

Smash Bros looks AMAZING. Skyloft, Spirit Train, and Gerudo Valley!!

I figured as much, given your previous comment. I was going more for "I've tried a lot of what the console has to offer so far and SERIOUSLY WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE INTERESTED IN IT AHHHHHHHHHHHH", but when I'm tired my words come out all wrong.

I was one of the people that never even had a GameCube - my parents bought me a PS2 that cycle and I could not talk them into anything else. Now, as an adult, I've been trying to track down GC games I wanted to play back then, and Wind Waker's been one of the trickier ones to find a copy in decent condition for a reasonable price, so the fact that it's seeing a re-release, in HD no less, is music to my ears.

I know, right? I've wanted a Gerudo Valley stage in Smash Bros since before I can remember, and I have a feeling I'll enjoy the Spirit Train far more as a stage than I did during the actual game (I blame that on one or ten too many Dark Trains ramming and destroying my train despite my best efforts to avoid/shoot them and my inability to dodge because, well, I was on a train). Skyloft should prove to be tremendous fun also! And I'd be a terrible liar if I said I wasn't excited to see what they might do with Dr. Wily's Castle and the Kid Icarus Stage.

Ouch :( We at least had a Gamecube for a while longer, mostly for Melee and Soul Calibur II, but I couldn't find another copy of WW. For some reason it's incredibly hard to find? (Same with Brawl, holy shit. I've been looking for a preowned one below $70 for FOUR YEARS.)

Heh, oh god, Dark Trains. I love Spirit Tracks, I really really do, but DARK TRAINS. And Skyloft looks amazing! I'm kinda hoping for day-night cycles, and during night, you get attacked by Remlits... Stage-wise, I'm wondering if we're going to get any new Pokemon stages other than just the prerequisite stadium? The characters are going to be interesting too, I'm hoping for both male and female trainers this time.

I love my Wii U too, though I admit I would not have bought it yet(It was a X-mas present) I would have waited till at least 1 huge title I really wanted was out. Most likely I would have pre-ordered the Wind Waker Bundle they have set up.

But I do love my Mario, people bitch about them just putting the same game out over and over, but I love Mario and each game is different enough that I happily buy and play through them all.

Zombie U was also pretty amazing though insanely hard at time.

I'm also anxiously awaiting the new titles they have coming up finally.

Nintendo does seem to have a bad habit of releasing a system before the games are there to support it.

Heh, I'm kind of annoyed I JUST bought one, only a few days before the WW package was announced... ah well, I like my Wii U.

There are a LOT of games coming up I'm looking forward to! Now I just have to work out how the hell to afford them.

And yeah, true. IIRC, didn't the DS only have a few titles at launch? But that ended up one of the most popular systems, handheld OR console, ever sold.
