Re: Phobias

(Anonymous) 2013-08-26 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
I think I have mild claustrophobia or stenophobia. Now, this isn't actually something that's ever affected me in real life, it's more of a hypothetical. I don't have trouble with small rooms or enclosed spaces in general. I just really, really hate narrow passages.

For example, any of those caving movies or stories where people have to squeeze through passages not much larger than they are? Creeps me out. Same thing applies even to narrow hallways that you'd have to turn a bit sideways to go down. The idea makes me uneasy.

Also, as a child, drop-offs in bodies of water creeped me out. There was just something generally scary about not being able to see the bottom, even though there was no fear of any particular thing being down there.
