I'm not into OT3s in a shipping sense (not my cup of tea, but hey, if it works for others, that's awesome), but I love friendship and/or platonic OT3s.

isn't that just... bein' buds, then? I don't think that counts as an OT3. That's just how friendship works.

Except, there are too many people who don't even write THAT. One gets shafted in some way to make way for the OTP pair, screw their friendships.

I see that SOMETIMES in PotC fic, though luckily, a ton of the people in the Sparrabeth fandom treat Will very well and keep the OT3 friendship dynamic, despite shifting the pair to Jack/Lizzie.

Depends on the fandom.
