Uh, Eowyn still killed the Witch-king? And Arwen was not conventionally badass in the source material? Extremely courageous to make the choice she did, but there was no swordplay, and her arc was always about Aragorn/love.

Arwen and Eowyn were far from perfect, but most of the problems were there from the books, not introduced by Jackson.

...Apart from the Arwen's-life-bound-to-the-Ring bullshit. I don't know what the fuck he thought he was doing with that.
