Re: Pet Adoption

Me and the ex had adopted a companion for the current cat a couple 3 years ago, and they got along well, but she died about a year and a half ago. Since the ex was around all the time, though, my cat never got lonely. This is a pretty new thing for him - he was raised until he was 8 with his sister who ended up adopted out to a different family (no one wanted my cat because he was fat and male - their loss, tbh).
I'm just shy about getting a new pet without vet records, and the guy seems a little cagey about it - like he expected that I wouldn't ask for that kind of thing. I don't want to agree to her only to take her to the vet and find out that she's got something transmissible to other cats.
Le sigh.
