I'm mostly in the opinion that in this fandom, while there are pockets of very good fic, there's also a shitton of very bad ones. Nothing wrong with exploring genderswap, if you can do it well. It's just the people that decide to write it end up writing chapters and chapters of really bad 'bad fic', and it's usually the same shit about Takaba getting pregnant and "omg, what to do..." and yet, it's this kind of bad fic that's popular (and its seemingly acceptable to like this level of awful, bad fic. Derp.) No one wants to challenge it and write better. I don't think it's necessarily being misogynistic, it's just that hardly anyone can write good genderswap in this fandom.
